How do I enable Two Factor Authentication on my account?

  • I would like to add Two-Factor Authentication to my Unity account
  • How can I improve the security of my Unity account?

Unity has taken steps to improve the security of our users' accounts by implementing Two-Factor Authentication. This offers an additional layer of security against unauthorised account access, by using your mobile phone or your preferred authenticator app to log into your account.

1 - Sign in to your Unity account at

2 - On the ‘My Account Settings’ page, navigate to ‘Account Security’

3 - Under ‘Account Security’ look for ‘Two Factor Authentication’

4 - Click on the ‘+’ button to add Two-Factor Authentication

5 - Click the green ‘Start Setup’ button

6 - Select which method of Two-Factor Authentication you want to activate. You can select either a phone number or authenticator app

If you've chosen 'Phone Number'

1 - Select the country flag of where your phone number resides, to complete the country code field

2 - Enter your phone number into the field, without any spaces

3 - Click ‘Next’ to proceed

4 - A code will then be sent to your phone number selected via SMS. On this screen, enter the code and click ‘Verify’. Each code generated will only be valid for five minutes before it expires. If you miss this five-minute deadline, the code will expire and you will have to start the process again.

5 - After the code has been verified, you will be redirected to the 'Your Two Factor Authentication' page with your new phone number added.

If you've chosen 'Authenticator App'

1 - Open your chosen authenticator app and scan the QR code shown on screen

2 - Enter the code generated on your device into the text field

3 - Click on the highlighted ‘Verify’ button

4 - After the code has been verified, you will be redirected to the 'Your Two Factor Authentication' page, confirming it has been setup

Recovery Codes

It is recommended that you create recovery codes once you have enabled the Two-Factor Authentication security feature, in the event that you need to gain access to your Unity account when you are not able to receive your codes. This can happen if you are in an area with limited signal or if you have misplaced your device.

1 - On the ‘Your Two Factor Authentication’ page, look for the eye icon to the right

2 - Click the eye icon to open a page showing your recovery codes.

3 - You will see a series of five pre-generated codes displayed. From here you can either download these codes into a text file or copy the codes to your device's clipboard, to be pasted and saved in another location on your machine.

There is also an option to generate new codes, if you have used your five recovery codes, or are worried that your codes have been compromised. Please note that generating new codes will expire the previously generated ones.

    Hello Oussama Ken and Hakari.

I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble getting Two Factor Authentication to work on your account or are experiencing log in issues.

In this instances, we can help remove the TFA from the account allowing you to log in.

You will just need to confirm ownership of the account by providing the current phone number attached to this account. Once we know you are the rightful owner we can an remove the TFA allowing you to log in once more.

Please reach out to us with this information at

If you are experiencing a different error, please describe this in full detail to support and we will assist as best as we can.

I hope this information helps. All the best.
