The billing details on my subscription invoice are incorrect. Why is this?

Symptoms

  •   The name on my invoice is incorrect
  •   The bill-to/ship-to address on my invoice is incorrect
  •   The VAT number on my invoice is incorrect

Causes

If any details on your invoice are incorrect, it is likely they have not been updated on your Unity account. It could be that when purchasing your subscription, you forgot to add details such as a company name and VAT number.

Your billing details may also have changed automatically. For example, this can happen when making Asset Store purchases with different billing details via the same account that your subscription is attached too. This change prompts our system to update your billing details.

Resolution

Unfortunately, once an invoice has been issued, the information on that specific invoice cannot be altered.

To change the 'BILL TO' details on your Organization, so that future invoices display this information, please follow the below instructions:

- Login to your Unity account at id.unity.com

- Click on the Organization to which your subscription is attached

- Click on the 'Payment Methods' tab

- Click the pencil icon beside your payment method

- Update your billing details

- Click the green 'Update' button

To change the 'SHIP TO' details on your Organization and invoice, so that future invoices display this information, please follow the below instructions:

- Login to your Unity account at id.unity.com

- Click on the Organization to which your subscription is attached

- Go to the 'Organization Details' section and click 'Edit'

- Enter your desired Ship to details

- Click the green 'Save' button

Information such as your VAT number and company name can be altered on your Unity account by following these instructions:

- Log into your account: https://id.unity.com

- Click "Organizations on the left side of the screen.

- Select the organization used upon purchase of the subscription/license

- Click "Edit Organization"

To add a VAT number, ensure that you have selected the correct country at the bottom of the page of where you are based and you have ticked the checkbox next to 'I am exempt from paying consumption tax'. Once checked, the field to enter your VAT number will appear.

- To add your company name, enter this in the 'Company Name' field

- Click the green 'Save' button
